Business Model Development Workshop Held as Part of the IN4BLUE Project

On Friday, March 20, 2026, an interactive Business Model Development Workshop was held at the Center for Creative Industries in Zadar as part of the IN4BLUE project. The workshop was organized by the Institution for Development of Competences, Innovation and Specialization of Zadar County – INOVAcija, in cooperation with project partner Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG AR).

The workshop brought together representatives from the public, private, and research sectors with the aim of strengthening the capacities of blue economy stakeholders and fostering the development of innovative and sustainable solutions in the Adriatic region.

During the workshop, business concepts of two innovative solutions developed within the project were presented – an innovative information and networking platform within the “Blue Economy 2.0” initiative, and the concept of regenerative tourism aimed at the sustainable transformation of tourist destinations.

In the educational part of the workshop, participants were introduced to the methodology of business model development using the Business Model Canvas (BMC). This was followed by a practical and interactive session in which participants collaboratively developed concrete business models for both concepts.

As a result of the workshop, two business models were developed, including detailed descriptions of the business concepts and key elements such as value propositions, target groups, distribution channels, and revenue streams. These models represent a solid foundation for the further development and implementation of innovative solutions in the field of blue economy.

The IN4BLUE project is implemented within the Interreg Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 programme, running from March 1, 2024 to August 31, 2026. The lead partner is the Istrian Development Agency – IDA Ltd., while INOVAcija participates as a project partner alongside other organizations from Italy and Croatia. The total project value amounts to EUR 1,390,779.00 and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund at a rate of 80%.

The organization of this workshop further highlights the importance of cross-sector collaboration and joint development of innovative solutions to address challenges in the blue economy, with a strong focus on sustainability and long-term development of the Adriatic region.
