CENTER FOR EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT

The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts has adopted the decision to finance the Centre for Development and Education project which applied to the Development of Business Infrastructure tender (KK.03.1.2.01). The implementation of the project started on 6 November 2017. and finished on 6 February 2020.

The total value of the project is HRK 25,571,601. The applicant, Poličnik Municipality, was granted a non-refundable sum of HRK 20,000,000.00 from the European Fund for Regional Development.

The project envisages the construction and equipping of the Centre for Development and Education in the Grabi business area in Poličnik Municipality.

Zadar County's INOVAcija Institution for the Development of Competence, Innovation and Specialization and Zadar County are project partners.

The aim of the project is to establish the Centre for Development and Education as a modern business-entrepreneurship infrastructure with a local and wider regional significance which will serve as the centre for the improvement of business within industries that use bee products as raw materials - wax, propolis, bee poison, pollen, royal jelly and honey (primarily the food and cosmetics industries). Since the project deals with the establishment of a business infrastructure which will suit the business needs of the mentioned industries and interested parties on all levels, the implementation of the project will directly contribute to an increase in the number of SMEs and an improvement of the quality of a wide range of products and services from the mentioned industries.

The Centre will offer incubation and consulting services to entrepreneurs, specialized educational services to businesses, the employed, the unemployed, students and pupils with entrepreneurship plans, as well as offering services of product development and improving production competitiveness with professional supervision. Several separate functional units will be located within the center, which will also serve as laboratories for study and active participation in technological processes under expert guidance. Incubation services are aimed at start-up businesses in various industry sectors related to bee products, through which the project will facilitate the development and growth of SMEs in the relevant area, which will ultimately significantly contribute to the attraction of new investments and job creation in the small and medium-sized business sector of Poličnik Municipality and Zadar County.

Aside from the partners, collaborators on this project include: Croatian Chamber of Economy, Zadar County Chamber, University of Zadar, Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Zadar County, AGRRA Agency for the Rural Development of Zadar County, Stanko Ožanić School of Agriculture, Food and Veterinary Medicine in Zadar.
